AI PDF Tools Tools
14 free tools
The AI tools read the text inside your PDF and do something a fixed converter cannot: summarise it, translate it, rewrite it, turn it into questions, or answer questions about it in plain language.
These are the only tools on this site that contact an external service. Your original PDF stays on your device, but the extracted text — and, for scanned pages, an image of each page — is sent to the AI provider when you start an AI action, so treat them accordingly.

AI PDF Tools questions
- What exactly gets sent to the AI provider?
- Your original PDF file is not uploaded. What is sent is the text extracted from it, and for scanned pages an image of each page, so the model can read them. That happens only when you start an AI action, and every AI tool states it on its own page.
- Is there a limit on how long a PDF can be?
- Long documents are split into chunks and processed in sequence, which means a very large file takes proportionally longer. Extremely long documents can exceed what fits in a single request and may need splitting by hand.
- How accurate are the summaries and translations?
- Treat them as a strong first pass, not as a final document. Definitions, figures and proper nouns are where these go wrong, so check anything you plan to rely on against the source.
- Do the AI tools work on scanned PDFs?
- Yes — pages are rendered as images and read visually, which is why OCR is not a hard requirement. Accuracy is lower than on a PDF that already has a text layer, and it takes longer.
